Lock Picking Kits
Your lock picking kit can range from a beginner set containing just a hook, ball, diamond, rake and tension tool to a much larger professional kit, depending on your lock picking skill level. The lock picking kit you choose should also factor in the difficulty of the locks you're hoping to defeat and/or the types of locks you run into on the job. There are easy locks that can be compromised by using the simple "raking" technique as well as very difficult tubular locks that require a lot more picking skill. Lockpicking kits are widely available and differ from manufacturer to manufacturer; all you need to start is a few basic lock picks and a tension wrench. Tension wrenches or turning tools are used along with the lock pick. In order to understand the "feel" of lock picking you need to know how the movement of a pin is effect by the torque (tension) applied by your tension wrench and the pressure applied by your pick.
